AFRICOM resumes ops from Djibouti!

The United States Africa command has resumed ops from Djibouti at the horn of Africa. As we know, AFRICOM claims they are just soldiers doing civilians work. But Africa rejects this. We are not ignorant, we know and understand the real goal and the desperate, neo-colonial Geo-political dynamics. Let civilians do civilians jobs, we do not need no boots and blood. It appears the impoverished Djibouti Nation was the only, desperate enough to accept their introduction, but there is a a certain expectation of a trickle and then flood through out Africa.

We must stand up against this invasion of our continent.

Africa Against Africom.org is cautious about congratulating Obama

We are sad to have to do this, but we must share the truth with you as always.

Ever ask yourself why Obama made it? Well do we not know the truth? We may have been fooled and dragged along into believing it was the power of the masses, the hidden true democracy that had long been known to be extinct. We didn't listen when Hillary(the other, not better candidate) said the media was making this happen.

It was true! Who owns the media? Not aMerica, we all kno who owns the media in aMerica, yes that extra aMerican state in the Middle East.

Little wonder right after his victory, he did not hesitate but immediately went to NY for a 30,000 bucks a seat fundraiser hosted by Axlerod. But who is Axelrod? Well he owns tons of buildings in New York. The whole area in Harlem is being renovated to accommodate elite non-blacks, and gradually thanks to the development of Axlerod and the likes, Blacks are being kicked out of Harlem. Let's not digress.

In his first speech since becoming the DNC nominee, he made a statement that made ex president Jimmy Carter who just recently reluctantly endorsed him, cry. He made a statement that even Israelites don't make, and that the entire world knows, will never allow peace on Earth. He didn't make this statement by accident, he knows what it means, denouncing the United Nations declared illegal occupation of East Jerusalem by Israel.

Every one knows that this statement and any government so harsh as to continue opposing the United Nations demand, and refusing Palestine their little entitlement, will never allow peace on Earth.

The entire Middle east wept. No he wasn't to take sides, isn't it Obama, the guy for change. He was just meant to be neutral, on the side of the UN, on the side of peace. Or at the very least, quiet about highly controversial issues.

But he couldn't.

Obama never associated with Blacks, and Blacks knew this, but reluctantly followed him
Obama denounced his pastor of 20 years just to get that seat.
Now Obama has denounced the United Nations and the larger worlds only possibility of getting a peaceful agreement in the Mid East. he has stood as very few ever have, in the way of peace. He has even proven worse than G Bush.

All presidencies that couldn't in some way get peace in the Mid East, didn't last very long, and it is not likely his will.

It's a day of mourning, not for aMerica, but for the entire world, all peace loving people from the US to Israel, to Palestine, to Africa.

Did he play the electorate? Now we know why and how he got so far. Now we know why the media liked him. It's another day of a puppet in the White house.

Africa and the rest of the world must sit tight and keep their prayers and guards up, the White house is not going to change just yet.

The article below is what the main stream media may not hastily say.

And by the way, did you notice he has already started a retraction on his declaration of expedient withdrawal from Iraq?

"...Washington - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama provoked a flurry of reaction Wednesday by touting Jerusalem as the 'undivided' capital of Israel, going further than the current administration of President George W Bush who was holding talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert at the White House.

Obama, speaking before an Israeli lobby group in Washington, said any future Palestinian state must be 'contiguous and cohesive' but rejected East Jerusalem as the capital of that state....

Japan's Okinawa demands US withdraw troops for rape of 14 yr girl. 14 rapes in total since 1995

NAHA, Japan (AFP) - Japan's southern island of Okinawa on Thursday demanded the US military rein in the thousands of troops stationed there after a US Marine was arrested for allegedly raping a girl.

The prefectural assembly of Okinawa unanimously adopted a resolution asking the US military to take action to improve ethical training for its forces.

The move came on the heels of similar resolutions passed by local assemblies of Chatan and Okinawa city, two municipalities where the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl occurred late Sunday.

"Okinawa prefecture has repeatedly demanded stricter discipline for US servicemen and action to prevent criminal offences, but still an incident like this happened. We feel fierce anger," said assembly member Seiichi Oyakawa, reading out the resolution.

"We demand the US government take effective and specific preventive actions that are clear to the eyes of the people of Okinawa, such as carrying out thorough human rights training for US soldiers," he said.

The resolution also renewed the local government's call for a reduction in the more than 20,000 US troops stationed in Okinawa.

Staff Sergeant Tyrone Luther Hadnott, 38, was arrested on Monday over allegations that he raped the girl in his car on the island. He has admitted trying to forcibly kiss her and groping her but denied raping her.

The incident rekindled memories of the gang-rape in 1995 of a 12-year-old girl by three US Marines, which set off major protests on the island and set in motion a process to reduce the number of US troops there.

US command assures Africa they will not build any base or garrison!

Source: Federal News radio VOA news

"...ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA - The head of the new U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) reassured the leaders of the African Union that Washington has no plans to militarize the continent, reports Reuters. "Our policy is to assist African countries to build their security capacity and have a secured environment," said AFRICOM commander Gen. William Ward. "Africa Command is not here to build garrisons and military bases," said the general, who was speaking to visiting A.U. leaders in Addis Ababa...."

We must be weary, this is extremely dangerous dining. We all know how it goes down in the Philippines. Give a bone and they'll creep in and take the entire meat factory. Africa should not buy this, but should negotiate for the primary crucial policy changes we need,- Like 'fair Free trade', [1] and the US stopping its lobbying against and vetoing to block the unanimous UN resolutions to ban illegal gun trade in Africa. [2]

Fruitless letter to General Powell to stop US blocking of control on small arms. The US position remains unchanged till date. [4]
"....Dear General Powell,
Every minute, one human life is snuffed out because of small arms. At the United Nations Conference on the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons, John Bolton, the US Undersecretary of State for Arms Control, stated that the US will block the proposed UN plan of action to curb small arms controls. His reason was that if the UN plan went ahead, it would undermine the US contitutional right for individuals to bear arms. His alternative was to strengthen existing arms embargoes and the development of more stringent national policies against the illicit small arms trade on the part of member states. It is urgent and necessary that we ask, "Is this response adequate?"

Annually 90% of the 500,000 deaths from use of small arms will be civilians. UN statistics show that 40-60% of the over 500 million small arms in circulation are illicit [5]....(More on next page)

Botswana VP Gaborone: the African Union should be united in rejecting AFRICOM.

"...America has bases in as diverse countries as South Korea, Germany, Japan and Eastern Europe.
He said in those places, not only do the marines terrorise their supposed hosts; they go as far as to rape and sexually abuse women.
“It’s all a result of arrogance,” he said...."

The Botswana National Front Vice President, Olebile Gaborone, is set to further divide African lawmakers at the Pan African Parliament scheduled for next month when he presents a motion calling on the continent to reject the setting up of the United States military bases in Africa (AFRICOM).

Speaking to The Sunday Standard, Gaborone said the African Union should be united in rejecting AFRICOM.

He said allowing the Americans to set up bases in Africa is the surest way of inviting Al-Qaeda terrorist attacks on the continent.

Botswana is a frontrunner in a list of potential hosts to the American military bases planned for Africa.

Gaborone says, contrary to some views that Botswana stands to benefit were the country to host the American army, not only will the country become a target of Islamists attacks and hatred it will also become a pawn in the global grand scheme by America to dominate and manipulate the entire world. “Let us not create reasons for Al-Qaeda to attack us,” said Gaborone.

He said by hosting the Americans, Botswana will become an inseparable partner of the increasing American unilateralist agenda and arrogance. “We should not forget that world terrorism is increased by the United States’ attitude of bullying and attacking anyone and everyone they do not like,” said Gaborone.

Focusing on Botswana, Gaborone said the United States military personnel are notorious for terrorising their hosts the world over.

AFRICOM Lessons from the Philippines

General NewsSource: Crossed Crocodiles: lessons from the Philippines

We can learn a lot about AFRICOM by observing US military activity in the Philippines, particularly if we understand the thinking behind it. Much of the military planning of the Bush administration has been done by participants in PNAC, Project for the New American Century. PNAC has been around since the early 90s and includes Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and just about all the other neocon "thinkers" who wanted to invade Iraq since the early 90s, caused the invasion in 2003, and got it so wrong. They are the same ones who have been threatening Iran on the basis of information they know to be false. They used 9/11 to implement plans they had been discussing for years, taking advantage of the attack to push an increasingly aggressive militarism on the US and the world.

The self-avowed aim of the US is to perpetuate its position of being the world’s sole superpower in order to re-order the world. Its strategy to perpetuate its status is to prevent the rise of any rivals. To do this, it is seeking the capacity to deter and defeat potential enemies anywhere in the world by retaining and realigning its “global posture” or its ability to operate across the globe through its worldwide network of forward-deployed troops, bases, and access agreements. Today, the US believes that, of all its potential rivals, China poses the greatest threat and must therefore be contained before it becomes even more powerful. [1]

As well as calling for "regime change" in Iraq, some PNAC neocons have called for "regime change" in China and describe: "the defining military conflicts of the twenty-first century: if not a big war with China, then a series of Cold War-style standoffs that stretch out over years and decades."

Nigeria restates its opposition to Africom!

We rejoice and celebrate a victory for our struggles, for freedom and democracy, however we should take this as a wake-up signal and must not relax for a minute, but must continue our struggle to secure and keep safe Africa's freedom. Up Yar'Adua! Up Nigeria! Up united safe Africa!

Source- The Times Of Nigeria

Nigeria has clarified her position on the US/Africa Command (AFRICOM) by restating its opposition to the presence of foreign troops in Nigeria and the Africa continent. Ojo Maduekwe, Nigeria’s Foreign Minister made the clarification in a statement to the media in Washington DC today.

The Minister said it was necessary to clarify Nigeria’s position given the interest the issue has generated.

“President Yar’Adua’s statement on the proposed AFRICOM is consistent with Nigeria’s well-known position on the necessity for Africa to avail itself of opportunities for enhanced capacity for the promotion of peace and security in Africa;

“Nigeria’s position on AFRICOM remains that African Governments have the sovereign responsibility for the maintenance of peace and security in the continent, especially in the context of the proposed African Union Stand-by Force and

“In this regard, the need for support and assistance by Africa’s development partners, such as the United States, in the provision of training, funding and logistics for African militaries was duly acknowledged.” The statement concluded.

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua himself clarified his position yesterday when he told the Hausa service of the Voice of America (VOA) in Washington DC that his position on AFRICOM remains unchanged.

“I did not accept AFRICOM in my discussions with Bush. I asked for assistance and told Bush that we have our plans to establish bases for African countries.

New Zambia on Africom

Written by Henry Kyambalesa

I have found it difficult, really difficult, to resist the temptation of getting involved in the debate. Let me tender my observations and misgivings concerning the AFRICOM initiative, without reciting those which are presented in existing articles on the subject.

1. In terms of peace and security, African countries do not, by and large, face external threats. Zambia, for instance, is surrounded by civilized and friendly nations which do not apparently pose any threat to the country—that is, Angola, (Botswana), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. We expect the situation to remain that way in the long term.

In other words, the problems facing the African continent are generally NOT military in nature. The needs, expectations and aspirations of citizens on the continent are clear: greater access to education, vocational training and life-saving healthcare; greater and sustained food security; greater employment opportunities; improved socio-economic conditions in rural areas; greater access to clean water and electricity; greater care for the elderly, the handicapped and both orphaned and vulnerable children; sustained protection of the fragile natural environment; and, among other things, a sustained effort to address the scourge of corruption.

We need support in addressing these and other related needs of our people.

2. If AFRICOM is allowed to create military bases on the African continent, what arguments will be advanced to prevent other countries with the wherewithal to seek to establish military bases on the continent—such as China, Cuba, Iran, Russia, and
